Suppose that all of life could be reduced to a graph. It could be as many dimensions as you like, but it’s still a graph. I think that the most important part of anything is not the point that you’re trying to get to in that space, but the vector of your approach.
At the very least, intangible important things should be a vector and not a point.
Goals should be vectors, then. Not points. You should aim to be a better writer, not necessarily a New York Times Bestselling Novelist.
Points are still useful, though. There are certain points along a vector you might want to reach.
